Caring for skin doesn’t have to be hard work and costly. Make your creams, serums and oils work hard instead. Let’s have a look at few skincare superheroes for your next beauty shop trip.
Rosehip seed oil
It’s the most nutrient-rich oil in the world. It contains Retinol for cell turnover, vitamin C to boost collagen and brighten skin and essential fatty acids that fight the formation of wrinkles.
Tip: Apply few drops on top of your water-based serum or cream.
Peptides
These mini-proteins are part of collagen, the protein responsible for our plump, youthful skin. With ageing, collagen is destroyed but not replaced which results in thinner and wrinkly skin. Peptides are messengers, telling your skin to make new collagen.
Tip: Look for copper peptides with its extra healing power in your cream. They remove damaged collagen and promote effective regeneration of your skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
This so-called ‘natural moisturiser’ is a special sugar-gel that binds water to skin cells, keeping skin plump and young. As we age, the production of Hyaluronic Acid is in decline.
Tip: If you have oily skin, look for oil-free hydrating gels instead of creams, containing this essential acid.
SPF
Sun protection factor makes sure that overexposure to ultraviolet sun rays won’t accelerate ageing, pigmentation and dullness to your skin. A cream lacking SPF is incomplete in its anti-ageing power and doesn’t prevent the formation of further signs.
Tip: Winter sun is just as damaging to the skin, always buy your creams with SPF.
