Vivienne Westwood dislikes Michelle Obama’s fashion choices

Dame Vivienne Westwood has branded Michelle Obama's fashion sense as "dreadful".

She said: "Don't talk about her, it's dreadful what she wears. I don't want to talk about it, really, She's a very nice looking lady but it's a nonstarter regarding clothes that suit her."

However, there is one First Lady whose fashion sense Vivienne is a fan of - the late Jackie Kennedy.

She told The New York Times newspaper: "Jackie Kennedy was a different matter altogether - it just had to suit her and be something that makes a human being more glamorous. That's what fashion is there for. It's there to help, not just to make you look more conservative."

Last month, Vivienne hit out at Duchess Catherine, and said she need to learn how to recycle her clothes.

She said: "I think it would be great if she wore the same clothes over and again, because that's very good for the environment and it would send out a very nice message. If you're going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it.

"I mean you don't have to have a red outfit one day and then something almost the same in blue the next."
