Sofia Vergara & Heidi Klum on the blue team at Emmy Awards

Blue was the leading colour at this year's Emmy Awards, with 'Modern Family' Latina star Sofia Vergara dazzling in a striking aqua-coloured Zuhair Murad dress.

The Hollywood stars took inspiration from various offerings of blue hues at the prestigious event in Los Angeles.

Supermodel Heidi Klum went for pale-blue, low-cut Alexandre Vauthier frock, completed with a thigh-high split and an actress Nicole Kidman looked stunning in a blue-and-white Antonio Berardi gown.

Hayden Panettiere, Julianne Hough, Zooey Deschanel and Michelle Dockery followed closely behind with their glamorous floor-length numbers in blue.

But blue colour wasn’t the only choice at Emmys. Arrays of yellows, reds and classic black gowns adorned the red carpet at 64th annual Emmy Awards in LA.

Pregnant star Claire Danes - who won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series - looked stunning in a yellow Lanvin creation, Christina Hendricks – star of a popular show ‘Mad Men’ - showed off her curves in a silver gown by Christian Siriano and TV presenter Cat Deeley wowed in a beautiful red Tadashi Shoji dress.
