Nothing beats well-deserved fun and frolics in the sun but whilst you’re topping up your vitamin D levels, your skin and your hair are being tested by the summer sun and frequent dips in chlorinated or salty water. Give your skin and hair much needed TLC after your holiday and remember to:

Rejuvenate Your Skin

Whilst sea salt acts as a natural exfoliator and reduces impurities, when combined with a scorching sun, it is damaging the outer layers of your skin. Skin gradually loses its elasticity and wrinkles will start to form.

Boost and strengthen the skin with a powerful moisturiser with active ingredient that firms and smoothes the sun-damaged skin.

Look for face balms, facial masks, creams and lotions enriched with essential oils featuring hydrating and repairing properties, like avocado, shea butter, aloe vera and jojoba oil and anti-wrinkle ingredients like retinol, vitamin C, hydroxy acids and niacinamide.

Replenish Your Hair

Your crowning glory is at much bigger risk than the skin, with sun, sea salt and chlorine in pool water posing a triple-threat. Each time your hair dries after a brief swim, the water evaporates leaving the salt to strip the hair of its essential moisture and oils, leaving it dull, straw-like and prone to breakage.

Restore and repair the protein structure of your hair with a super-conditioning, regenerating hair treatment.

Look for hair masks packed with natural oils like avocado, rosemary or almond and hair oils like Moroccan oil, full of Omega-3, fatty acids and antioxidants.

Top Tip: It goes without saying that the best way to prevent sun rays aging your skin prematurely, is using creams and lotions with built-in SPF. Protect your hair too, with a leave-in UV protection hair spray before you dive into sea waves.
