Nicki Minaj raises HIV awareness with MAC lipstick
The superstar rapper, Nicki Minaj wants to raise money for HIV education in her native Trinidad thanks to her limited edition MAC Viva Glam lipstick.
Nicki is delighted with the support her fans have shown by snapping up her limited edition MAC Viva Glam flamingo-pink lipstick.
Nicki told G2: "Two of my mom's brothers died of Aids, in Trinidad. It was a long time ago, but they passed, both of them. On top of that, a quarter of a million people in Trinidad have Aids. That's a lot of people on a tiny island, and it's an island that I'm from.
"Forty per cent of adolescents in Trinidad have no education on HIV and Aids. And that's what the campaign does - it puts it out there on blast. Awareness, awareness, awareness. And my fans really got behind it. They made my lipstick the biggest-selling Mac Viva Glam lipstick ever, and now we're introducing the lipgloss."
The eccentric celebrity thinks every girl should wear pink this season and enthused that her favourite shades of pink are: "Flamingo pink. Hot pink. Baby pink! HOT PINK! And fuchsia."
Nicki's MAC Viva Glam lipstick is available at London’s Selfridges.
