Mulberry wins best luxury brand
Mulberry has been announced Best British Luxury Brand 2012 by Walpole and beaten off competition from Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen that were also nomitated.
The fashion house's creative director Emma Hill was presented with the award from the not-for-profit organisation - which represents the British luxury industry - at a ceremony in London.
Burberry scooped the Best Luxury Brand Online prize, while swimwear label Orlebar Brown was honoured with Best Emerging British Luxury Brand at the glamorous event.
Additionally, Team GB rower Katherine Grainger and sprinter Jonnie Peacock followed in the footsteps of Vivienne Westwood, Lord Sebastian Coe and photographer Mario Testino to be given Medals of Excellence.
Walpole CEO Julia Carrick said: "This year's Walpole award winners represent some of the most talented organisations from across the luxury industry and we are delighted to recognise their exceptional achievements.
"It has been an extraordinary year for Britain and this year's Olympic and Paralympics games was a demonstration of British talent at its very best. With this in mind, we are delighted to award two truly inspirational individuals, Katherine Grainger and Jonnie Peacock, with special Walpole Medals of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding sporting success."
