Good timing is everything and when it comes to our skin, recognising what your skin needs and when, will maximise the effects of your beauty regime.
MORNING
1. De-Puff And Brighten Up
The morning rise of stress hormone cortisol causes breakouts and dullness. Rebalance the hormone levels with a morning mini-facial massage and boost the circulation with a gentle facial wash and a facial brush. Puffy eyes are a result of a fluid retention due to adrenalin in the morning. Reduce the under-eye puffiness with patting on a cooling eye gel.
2. Nourish And Protect
Breakfast kicks off your metabolism and the nutrients get absorbed quicker, so taking supplements of vitamins C and B after breakfast benefits the skin from within. A cup of green tea together with applying a moisturiser full of antioxidants will protect your skin against pollution and harmful free-radicals.
AFTERNOON
1. Correct And Mattify
The blood vessels are more visible in the afternoon, causing unwanted redness. Furthermore oily sebum makes our face appear too shiny. Neutralise the redness with a CC cream and pick a mattifying base or foundation.
2. Freshen Up and Rehydrate
Skin can become lacklustre, due to frequent consumption of tea or coffee throughout the day. Inject moisture back into your skin with a hydrating facial spray that contains rose or lavender. Boost moisture levels with sipping on coconut water.
EVENING
Cleanse And Repair
Dirt and toxins from a stressful day sit on top of yours skin by the evening, so use a cleanser with antioxidants that fights free-radical damage. Time to slather on an anti-aging night cream to give your skin a chance to renew and repair.
