Kate Moss is Hat Person of the Year 2013

One of the most stylish people in the world, Kate Moss, has been named 2013 Hat Person of the Year in an online poll carried out by The Headwear Association.

The 39-year-old supermodel received 40 per cent of the vote and was praised for her "impeccable" taste. The Headwear Association - which promotes hats and headwear awareness worldwide - said:

"Kate Moss' oft-imitated London street style is legendary, and she is well known for her love of hats. Hats off to you, Ms Moss. Your style is impeccable."

The runner up in the poll is singer Bruno Mars, who was a close second with 38 per cent, while Anne Hathaway finished third in the poll - which has previously been won by Britain's Duchess Catherine (2012), Johnny Depp (2011) and Brad Pitt (2010) - with 14 per cent of the vote.

Earlier this year, the Headwear Association announced it was inducting a new batch of headgear-wearing celebrities into its THA Headwear Hall of Fame for 2013.

'Les Miserables' star Hugh Jackman, 'The Paperboy' actress Nicole Kidman and late acting legend Cary Grant were among those inducted into the Hall of Fame, which features 30 stylish individuals overall including L.L. Cool J, Victoria Beckham, Cameron Diaz and Gwen Stefani.

THA President Stephanie Carter explained: "Each year, the 104-year-old Headwear Association selects individuals renowned for wearing hats with signature style. The six chosen to be inducted into the 2013 Headwear Hall of Fame are all known for frequently wearing hats and have all elevated the visibility of the headwear category."
