Jennifer Lawrence's last minute hair change

Jennifer Lawrence shocked her stylist Mark Townsend by demanding to have her hair chopped off just one hour before heading to the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards in LA.

Mark told Harper's Bazaar: "Jennifer showed up an hour before call time and as she opened the door she was like 'Mark I want to cut it all off.' I was like 'What? Are we allowed to do that?' And she said 'Of course, it's my hair!' "

The actress' stylish new look was a hit with both fans on Twitter and the 23-year-old actress alike, and she kept enthusing she had never seen her hair so short before.

Mark revealed: "She didn't want the conventional asymmetrical bob. She wanted tons of layers - so we went with a full-on shag, with bangs and a lot of face-framing layers. I loosened up the ends by chopping into them with thinning shears. As I cut, I lost track of how many times she said 'I love it!'

"She was super excited. It's the shortest her hair has been her whole life."

Jennifer is famously low-key about her appearance and is looking forward to letting her wavy hair dry naturally thanks to her texture-enhancing layers.
