1. Prep the hair in the shower with a correct shampoo for your hair type and skip any rinse-out conditioner to prevent the hair to be too flat or too soft for this hairstyle.
2. Gently towel dry your hair and either apply volumizing mousse for fine hair to give it a lift or for medium and thick hair, apply styling cream to de-frizz.
3. Generously apply some texturising spray.
4. Start blow-drying your hair with a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer until it’s 80% dry. Don’t touch the hair too much while drying. Touching it often will create more frizz.
5. Section your hair into 2-inch squares all over your head using zigzag lines to part for cooler, imperfect finish.
6. Spray each section with a good setting spray and twist the strands of hair into tight ‘mini-buns’. Secure with a hairpins.
7. Blast each mini-bun with a blow dryer, until your hair is dry and the hairpins feel hot. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Let the buns cool down before removing the hairpins or use cool setting on your hairdryer.
8. Take the hairpins out and use fingers to pick each section and tousle. For tighter curls, randomly curl some strands with a medium-barrel curling wand.
9. Spray with a good holding spray and apply tiny drop of shine serum or wax to define strands tame any flyaways.
Tip: If the curls are too tight, brush them with a medium-sized round brush and a blow dryer to smooth out the hair that frames your face and the top layer of your hair around your part. Make sure to direct the hair away from your face.
