Duchess Catherine's polished look has inspired a "new interest in glamorous dressing" in Britain, according to fashion designer Jenny Packham.
Fashion designer Jenny Packham, who is behind a number of garments for the Duchess of Cambridge believes people are getting better at "building up a wardrobe" after getting ideas from the 30-year-old British royalty’s sophisticated look.
She said: "I think there is a new interest in glamorous dressing in this country - we just need more black-tie occasions. A lot of my designs are inspired by the 1930s, when people were fabulous at dressing up. Then it just all kind of fell away.”
Designer Jenny however plans to add more weighting to Catherine's garments in future after the duchess revealed more flesh than she would’ve liked whilst touring the US on a windy day.
Jenny added to the London Evening Standard newspaper: "Well, I didn't know it was going to be worn on a windy runway. But I did think maybe in future I will put in more weighting, just in case."
Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton before marrying Britain’s Prince William last year - was "deeply saddened" earlier this month when paparazzi pictures of her sunbathing topless were published in a French magazine. The publication was later banned from printing any more after the royal family took legal action.
