David Beckham admits some hair faux pas

David Beckham confessed some of his previous hairstyles have been "mistakes" and suggested he was drunk when he had cornrows in 2003.

The soccer superstar, famous for regularly changing his look admits he won’t go back to sporting the ‘Mohawk’ hairstyle he once had in 2002.

He said: "There have been one or two haircuts that were close to the mark, that I look back on and think were mistakes. Not mistakes, but different to what I'd do now. But I'm a lot older now.

Although David - who has four children with wife Victoria - feels "special" to have people imitate his style, he insists it isn't something he has ever set out to achieve.

He told Shortlist magazine: "I don't get up and think, 'I'm going to wear this because it will make a statement.' I just wear what I want to wear.”

He then added: "I don't really go into it too deeply. But it's great to have that kind of label. It's nice that people like what you wear most of the time and want to wear it."
