Why wait for summer when you can cheat that sun-kissed glow and a little bit of tan now? Follow our guide and become a bronzing pro.
Which Type?
Compact powder or bronzing pearls, cream or loose powder? The choice is yours whichever suits your lifestyle best.
Pick One For Your Skin Tone
Whether you’re fair or olive-skinned, choose your bronzer only two shades darker than your skin tone. Fair complexions should opt for a bronzer that adds a fresh glow, medium-dark for the one that warms up the skin with a little bit of added shimmer. Dark skin tones should choose bronzers packed with gold or copper shades, enhancing the dark complexion.
Get The Right Brush
Invest in a bronzer brush as the they have more bristles packed tightly together and you get more colour out of your bronzer with each swipe. For cream bronzer, apply gently with your fingers and blend into the skin.
Apply It Correctly
Follow the number 3 rule. Start at the top of your forehead on each side, sweep along the cheeks and your jaw line, all the way to your chin. Remember to apply the product lightly and keep blending, working it into your skin. Bronzer with a subtle shimmer looks fabulous when applied lightly on the nose, collarbones and shoulders.
Top Tip: If you wear a foundation under your bronzer, switch it to a slightly darker base colour, i.e. one shade warmer than your usual one. This way your skin will look more tanned and it will compliment your bronzer without it looking too fake.
